Yep, worked with an older LG GSA-4163B (this drive was GSA-4167B). Now,
the strange thing is that why doesn't grip or cdparanoia (cmdline

I was finally able to boot with a Kubuntu Feisty disk due to issues with
the nvidia legacy driver (is my best guess) and repair the filesystem
and it had lots of issues. After the repair the packages upgraded
successfully and I was able to upgrade to the latest version of

Hello, I ran into the same firmware loading issue after upgrading from
feisty today. I noticed that the firmware loads correctly for the
generic kernel, but not for the 386 kernel. Upon closer inspection, it
looks like I was missing the firmware images in the
/lib/firmware/2.6.22-13-386 directory
My steps for reproducing the bug also work if you install Gutsy beta
instead of Tribe 5 in step 1 -- I just tested this.

For what it's worth, I see a similar difference in dmesg output here also
between -12 and -13 kernels.
X keeps trying and failing to start in "normal" mode, falls back into some kind
of low-rez "safe" mode.
I captured the dmesg.13 by clicking "shut down" and falling into a root,
text-mode shell.

My system's relevant information (this set of files does not contain the
wireless error, but it is identical to the other poster's).
I personally use 2.6.22-13-rt, but I suspect the -rt has nothing to do
with it. I had no problems with 2.6.17. 2.6.20 was bad for a myriad of
reasons, so I never use

Update: This issue does not appear to be limited to
Thunderbird/Enigmail, but seems to be related to gnupg in some general
way. I cannot sign or encrypt messages using Seahorse and gedit.
As a temporary fix, I'm going to restore my Feisty installation from
backups and wait until the stable release

Later that I brought up to date the Gutsy today Beta, for kernel
2.6.22-13-generic #1 SMP, wireless this functioning correctly and did not stop
more so far.
But some information, as speed, is not available.
Already laptop gives to use mine perfectly!
