The first patch causes the error to disappear, but the testcase on the

I have a problem that sound like this one. The connection work for 5
seconds and than stops for 3 seconds.
I'm running Kubuntu Gutsy tribe 5 on an ASUS G1S.
The problem seems to be "caused" by wpa_supplicant asking for a SCAN of
the wireless every 5 seconds. If you kill wpa_supplicant the connect

#131107). Deleting /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/gparted-disable-
automount.fdi and rebooting fixed it for me. So it might be a problem
related to gparted and not gnome-volume-manager.

I found what seems to be the problem, thanks to bug #131107. gparted
creates the file:
/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/gparted-disable-automount.fdi
which stops any drives from automounting.
I removed the file and restarted hal with "sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart"

I have the master channel set to PCM which allows me to adjust the
volume on the tray icon. However, mute then does not work. If I set the
master channel to be FRONT then the speakers on the laptop are in use
even though I have a headphone plugged in. The mute only works on the
laptop speakers.

I should have asked - can you post the fragments of dmesg that show the
card being recognised, and the output of:
$ sudo lspci -vvnnx -s 00:xxx
where 'xxx' is the slot reported in the dmesg output.
This will help others in the future to find and solve similar issues.

I have installed Feisty on a HP Pavillion 7940 desktop (dual boot with
XP). Generally everything works rather nicely. However if I restart
Ubuntu the on-board sound in the BIOS settings is disabled so there is

It's absolutely not associated. It hunts around for the correct channel and
does find the correct frequency, but it just doesn't go onward to stage 3
and finish the association, unless I time the ifdown/ifup just right.

2. Moved the SATA controller to PCI Slot 0 (Or slot 3, the one furthest
