Iirc I could workaround by printing it to pdf, and then feeding that
directly to cups (via xpp or plain lp) and telling the paper
orientation...
alas I can't test it anymore, since I installed feisty whose evolution
doesn't seem to have the ability to print landscape calendars at all...

Sorry about this. I'm assuming you rebooted and didn't just
rmmod/modprobe, I'm too new to Ubuntu to know which services should
have been restarted to be 100% certain NM should work. You're tired
of this bug, and I'm out of ideas :-(

the problem with edgy is a known kernel bug that freezes the machine.
The fix has been pushed to updates, but we need a new installer to grab
the fix and make edgy installable on those system again.
Use feisty for now.. it will be out in 10 days anyway.

I do, the three linux-restricted-modules-xxx packages were installed (I
think they were -2.6.20, -common, -generic). If you want me to attach

Actually, I notice that toggling the Preferences option for hidden files
on/off always requires a re-launch of nautilus to take effect, not
necessarily only when enabling hidden files. It is interesting to note
that the shortcut ctrl-h updates the listing immediately.

Mustek 1200ub plus relies on a firmware that is currently not included.
firmware is called sbfw.usb and it goes in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx

Also sane misidentifies the 1200ub plus calls it a bearclaw 1200cu
