Started happening right after a system update switched me over from nvidia-glx
to nvidia-glx-legacy, like Antonio stated. Using the nv driver instead of
nvidia provides unlimited use of my machine without any instability. With the
nvidia driver from nvi
I marked it hplip instead since it should have been pulled in with that
and because "ubuntu-base" isn't an option (considered part of "ubuntu-
meta" instead)

When on AC power, suspend doesn't work. Screen goes blank and very
quickly fans start spinning very fast. When on battery, it suspends
after some time (couple of minutes). Screen goes blank, but I think
sound is still working and causing problems. I'll do some tests with
rmmoding sound modules befo

I can confirm that this bug doesn't occur in 2.6.20-13 and -14. There
are still some issues in suspending, but there are no more crashes like
this one. I'm marking this fixed. For other problmes, see bug 82996.

I had the same issue, but got it fixed by changing from the default
2.6.20-14-generic kernel to the 2.6.20-14-386 version. Speedstep is now
working fine both plugged in and unplugged! :)

Confirmed still a problem in feisty, and without the Ubuntu patches, and
in upstream's latest (v6.9). Debian seems to be on 5.2.1, so the bug was
apparently introduced since them.
