I have an ASUS P5VDC-X, which is very closely related. Dapper worked
fine (aside from Via 880 chipset incompatibilities in the kernel).

This bug needs to be fixed in opera. The script does not check only the
contents of /usr/X11R6/bin but also what's recorded in the package
database. Moving files around at random won't work. Also.. we did kill
usr/X11R6/bin before dapper. That means that opera package in commercial
repo is wrong.

I have installed aMule (dapper) in edgy for testing. aMule (dapper) did
not crash in dapper, so I though it was worth testing.
As a result, aMule (dapper) will crash in edgy in just the same way. I

My resolution is detected out of the box, so I guess that means that it
is the Xorg drivers.
NOTE: the the issues appeared within a week of the release candidate. I
had edgy running prior to this without this problem.

My systems seems to work but SAMBA remains broken.
You requalified the bug as a duplicate of bug #68378.
Trying to repair SAMBA i indeed meet the error 102 message described in
that bug.

Hi,
I am doing fresh install (instead of upgrade) every time a new version
of Ubuntu is released.
Since Ubuntu 6.06 Live and Install CD has been combined. I could install
Ubuntu 6.06 from Live CD on my Laptop.
When I tried Ubuntu 6.10 Live CD the installation crashed. I got

Yes it's still there in edgy - final version. With the workaround the
vertical scrolling is not working on my amilo 1645. So I want back to
the latest xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package. With the old mistake
like described above. The strange thing is, before I updated from dapper
to edgy, it work

No the caps lock does not work...the cursor is still flashing...it does
not display a splash screen...no none of the other disc lights are
flashing...it almost displays a command line like it does with the other
older kernal...

Had the same problem here. Ran a combination of Frodon's and Christopher
Armstrong's scripts:
sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.17-10-generic
sudo update-grub
sudo aptitude reinstall linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-10-generic
