Actually, this is a problem in the e1000 driver.
It puts the chip into a power-management state then accesses
it's registers in a way that it shouldn't, which results in a timeout.
I've known about this bug since the 2.6.17 kernel was released
but never had time to look into it and fix properly.

As far as I can tell, pressing the Fn key causes the keyboard to emit
the secondary keycode at the hardware level, so this bug is invalid. In
addition, the behavior is exactly the same in OSX...

I now have working suspend to both ram and disk on my nx6125. swsusp
occasionally compains about "out of memory", but apart from that things
are working nicely. I'm using kernel 2.6.17-9-generic, with no usplash
(it corrupts my vt's). Thanks!

Can you please clarify... your airport extreme card works properly if
you configure it manually (using iwconfig, etc.), but the network
monitor applet doesn't think it's a wireless interface?

This is a fairly old bug: I am closing, in the hopes that this is fixed
in Dapper or later (Edgy). Please don't hesitate to reopen if it's still
an issue for you [would appreciate if you could test with a Dapper Live
CD -without installing I guess :) ). Thanks.
