Didn't get to update all the packages, but I was trying to install on a
hadrive on IDE channel 2 and had fresh partitioning and such. Just

I have been running Paul's patch, but eventually the system froze. I'm not sure
if this was an update to xorg or not. reneraccel makes no diff here, I still
get hard locks if I set the depth above 16bit. This is a real killer of a bug,

As Debian (and thus Ubuntu) are afraid of linking against libssl-dev, I
just added support for hashing with libgcrypt (instead of libcrypto) in
GQ trunk.
Unfortunately I'm quite busy right now, and I only added MD5 for the
libgcrypt build.

I just finished updating kde-systemsettings, and the keyboard shortcuts,
and command shortcuts do not exist anymore. I guess that is the

I posted too soon. I thought I had a good understanding of what was
going on, but my testing since then has revealed that I can reproduce
the performance degradation of VMware using multiple versions of
xserver-xorg-core, and, I have been able to successfully run VMware
without performance degrada
Punting to linux-source because this sounds like a kernel problem

I think you would need to attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log after such a
crash to evaluate what had happend.

I'm a nvidia-glx-legacy user to (Geforce 1 256) and I do not appear to have the
same problem. Can you attach (using the include attachment link below the
comment box) your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file and the file produced by
dmesg > dmesg
