You need to run it from the command line, and then add it to the panel -
otherwise it will sit there doing nothing as you observed, waiting to be
added to the panel. Please try running it from the command-line, then
add it to the panel, and post back the output.

This sounds like a combination of bugs. "Get Help Online" and "Translate
This Application" are in launchpad-integration, but the others may well
be elsewhere and would need to be separate bug reports once
investigated.

Since version 1.1.19 libpaper doesn't produce the binary packages libpaperg and

version available which are now obsolete (and uninstallable).
Please remove them from edgy.

This upload fixes the issue:
nautilus (2.15.91-0ubuntu1) edgy; urgency=low
.
* New upstream version:
- Use gtk recent files code
- Fix file change notification regression (Ubuntu: #52941)
- Don't display raw form of selinux contexts
- Import lates EggSequence with bugfixes
The upstream bug description is very vague; it mentions that there were
some known bugs in 0.1 regarding NTFS, but that is about it. Note also
that I don't think gparted resizes NTFS itself, but calls out to
ntfsresize.
