I had difficulties with the nVidia MX400 AGP graphics card I was using,
and upgraded to an MX4000 card. (This was with Breezy Badger.) I then
started to have the bug reported here: display locks, x.org
Now I've tried the above suggestion, it does not seem to solve anything on
Ubuntu.. I've tried adding it:
1) In the /etc/modprobe.d and reconfiguring initrd
2) Adding it on the commandline to the kernel boot parameters.
3) Even tried the old scsi_max_luns the same way.

I can confirm this is not a gnome-systems-tools issue, as I encountered
it both in KDE and in GNOME. In fact in KDE it was more severe, as the
nameservers would reset every few hours, while in GNOME it improved to
once every reboot.

It just happened again (it only happens sometimes, so it's difficult to

- start console apps (less, man, python, ps, grep, ...)
- open new gnome-console windows & tabs
I wasn't able to
- start X apps (xterm)
- start gnome apps (gedit, gnometris, ...)
I made straces of gedi
Doesn't have anything to do with the background changing cronjob - I
disabled it, and just started xchat-gnome, and the behavior is the same.

Try this. Start Firefox from a command prompt:

That should temporarily fix the problem until you exit firefox. The
problem appears to be that nppdf.so expects that libXt.so to already be

DaNg ! I'm so desapointed... all these backup for nothing.
I tried to manualy manage my disks and partitions in QTParted... but it
appear that even when formating them, nothing is done.
Maybe there's something with ReiserFS file system. I guess.

pc from internet. Then try to hibernate your computer, maybe your

When I press the "administrator mode" button to gain access to the share
options in the system settings, all of the options are greyed out and the whole
page looks like garbage.

please disregard my earlier post, I don't think it's Xorg, I found this

When I try to setup this printer the default "gimp-print" driver doesn´t work,
when I select it I get an error about the driver not being available.
The "gutenprint" driver does work, but it assumes "letter" as paper size which

When I use Rythmbox, the first song gets played fine. For every
subsequent song, Rhythmbox tries to play the song, encounters an error,
shows the error icon in the song list, and tries to play the next song,
which also generates an error, and so
Glatzor, this bug went upstream almost nine months ago, and it's
unconfirmed yet.
Besides, it is around since warty, so it seems fair that people ask for
it, unfortunately.
