Jurgen,
I understand your point and think you are right. But however, that's my
logical thinking, this person could have sent us a more personal mail
explaining to us he has opened a (web)shop and giving us a real name
who's behind this.
Now it looks like a ordinary spam mail.. altough i like

This is spam, and whether they promote Evil or Ubuntu, spammers should
be slowly and painfully killed by listening to Justin Bieber singing
the Microsoft Windows EULA :-)
btw, I received their mail too.

I don't believe that, as you have to specifically register at the town hall

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is my call to make but I'd like to express my
disappointment here.During the last couple of weeks this MailingList has
increasingly been used to address certain problems that aren't a real part of
our job as Ubuntu-be members.I'm not here to tell who's right or
you don't..
In belgium you are a donator by default.. Although they don't really make use
of that without you really consenting with it..

Well,
according to others, it's not-done to post "advertisements" to a mailing

permanent page on some pseudo-forum).
But hey, if you prefer a mail falling into your inbox through the
mailinglist over one falling into your inbo

Weird. When I was in our local town hall a while ago, they had big posters
saying "register now to become a donor".
Anyway, let's get back ontopic.

Okay peepz,
I just had a very interesting talk with Eric (the ahemm "spammer").
He told me he sent this mail to no more than 6 persons on the list.
If I counted correctly, all six of us responded in the mailinglist.
He also says he removed all these addresses out of his "list" once the

I've already unsubscribed myself. (I would've wanted to see what exaclty
they were offering but the entire mail didn't contain a single link to
their webpage so I've deleted it right away)

Hoi,
As some of you may be aware, last month several Ubuntu-be members met
and decided to form the Ubuntu-be Council in order to help and
encourage collaboration and initiative in the Ubuntu-be community [1].
And the Council loves the idea of an Ubuntu-be USB stick and will be

I already told in another mail that I can always help help write the
USB-drives and ship them.
I also have the time (if the exams are finished, 22nd juin) to help
"updating the ISO" with the Dutch and French language completely supported,
maybe with some aditional apps, ...

no old distribution left
Hey guys,
count me in for the project.. I do have exams until the 24th.I'd say we split
this thing up to 1. getting the iso ready and 2. getting the stick here.
I've never made a custom iso before but as I hear it, it's a piece of cake..
Nevertheless we need to decide what goes on and what goes

There is an ubuntu-be wallpaper in the promotional material on the website.
Maybe we can use that, or maybe we can use an updated version.
Since there are a lot of decisions like that to take, maybe it's best to
organize an IRC meeting for this.

I think the eID is pretty major - mostly (but not only) for TaxOnWeb -
it works like a charm. You can also use it to digitally sign your mails
(though I haven't tried that, I use my OpenPGP for that)
Grtz,
Jurgen.
