Thats good I'm gonna try. I used to use the Skype before upgrading to
Intrepid Ibex.
Now, even after using*killall pulseaudio * Skype cant make voicecalls.
Need the solution urgent as I have clients waiting to call me. :(

Now I use a dedicated machine for windows development and
communication and another one for Linux development. So I have no
recent idea on IM stuffs in Linux. :P

maybe you can run Yahoo messenger using WINE? or use Virtualbox?
as far I remember none of the messengers in Linux supports voice/video chat.
