I've been told explicitly to *include* that on SRUs (hence I just
tweaked my sbuild wrapper to generate it automatically), because users
want to know
I'll sponsor this today

I just realized you might not have upload rights and maybe @waveform
sponsored it? In that case the last point in my comment would be
directed to @waveform, or whoever is doing the building and uploading.

Thanks for testing with network-manager! I feel better about not
including the Breaks:, as I think many people do use network-manager-

So, I tested the backported code with network-manager and it worked for
the canonical vpn at least. I marked as broken just to be extra cautious
but it clearly is not completely broken. I'd be happy to upload a new
debdiff removing that breaks rule.

Since jammy's network-manager-openvpn version is 1.8, and there is no
backport of network-manager-openvpn in jammy, this appears to completely
prevent the use of network-manager-openvpn with

Hi folks,
I'd like to get an update on the status of this backport. Has it been
re-uploaded to the correct pocket?
Thanks

Argh, I did indeed use -d with sbuild (because it's what I always use --
there was some issue with -c I needed to work around historically that I
can't recall -- probably cross-building related). Anyway, I'll prep
another upload this evening.

nope, sbuild -d is a clear override of what's in the changelog:

Indeed I checked the .changes file that was in th
@mapreri: target Distribution is based on changelog entry I believe when

always check in changelog that it targets the correct pocket (jammy-

It's in the wrong queue, it has "Distribution: jammy" instead of
"Distribution jammy-backports".
Now it will need somebody from the SRU team to reject it, a rebuild and
re-upload.
I'm not sure how that happened, it used to be the case when somebody
used sbuild with `-d DIST` instead of `-c DIST`
Jorge, thanks for providing a test-plan! I see this is already sponsored
and pending review by the backports team in the unapproved queue:

[Test Plan]
The bug can be reproduced by just running:
openvpn --show-ciphers
The non-patched version returns no algorithms and the patched version
should include a list of cipher algorithms like this:
AES-128-CBC (128 bit key, 128 bit block)
AES-128-CFB (128 bit key, 128 bit block, TLS client/s
Based on Vladimir's tests passing, and the major points being addressed,
this seems ready for sponsorship to jammy. I'll upload making the

Hi Vladimir, thank you for your help.
I think the test plan from LP: #2077769 should cover both cases (FIPS and
non-FIPS). Do you want me to copy it over here?

Hi,
Thank you for the patch!
Minor nits:
- trailing whitespaces in changelog after LP: #2091575
- typo in dependencies
I have applied those to the diff and will try to build/test the package
now.
Best Regards,
Vladimir.
