If you search for "update" in Google Images you get mostly variations of
spinning arrows. The parachute idea is nice, but maybe it would be
better to stick to what the user is used to and try to get something
nice using those arrows.

asic Ubuntu colors (the logo colors --- read, yellow, orange),
maybe there could be some additional visual information, no?
If I'm completely missing something like the set of icons being
configurable, I certainly would appreciate being shown/told
how to do that --- but still my complaint would remain active
in that the default choice of icons would be sub-optimal.

Not sure if KDE4 will make me change my opinion/view
about it, but from what I've seen so far, KDE is as bad
and as bloated/non-functional as it gets. Almost as bad
as Windows, if not worse...
