Actually the paleness is lost when the present icon scales down to 24px...
but i tried ur idea.
and i'v attached the screenshots of the icon in action on a 19px panel... oh
and the panel is vertical on the right just to get u oriented.

personally i don't like the restyiling done for the folder icon; so i tryed
to do something similar but less "strong" (i don't find other word...)...
it's only a try, i don't pretend to change anything, tell me what you think.

Hello,
To me, the low resolution icons look blur. And the big one, with the weird
curves, looks like the folder has been stained. Also, there is a quite
bizarre shadow inside the folder, which can't exist with such a front light.
By the way, do you have an SVG version of your icons ?
