There's a bug report about this; you may want to subscribe to it:

Hey guys,
Having been a member of the ubuntu art team for several years I would have
hoped you people would have been able to come up with something better than
taking your frustrations with "slow connections" out on anyone other than
yourselves and finding better solutions to the problem than,

several years on the team, I'm speaking from the vantage point of a

Coming into the community it was fairly surprising to see that art
development in Ubuntu is chiefly handled through a poorly organized wiki

Yes, I fully agree on that a forum should be set up, with categories for
"wallpapers", "GTK-themes" etc. with "submissions" in each, and discussions on
each submission, as well as relevant debates in general categories.
Btw, when I get some time I'll try to make a suggestion for a wallpaper, ju

Hi All,
That's long time ago when I have added my words to this list last.
I was following the Hardy gtk and metacity plans and I found it still open.

Hi all,
Have many of you checked out the 'Too Human' theme?

I think its exactly the direction for Hardy to go in, and for those who

I love the details in the buttons, but I hate the maximize and the like.
I think that one would go nicely with a backgr
Hmm, what exactly do you dislike about the maximize/etc? I think those
buttons are perfect because they are simultaneously unobtrusive and
immediately obvious as to their functions.

P.S. That wood background is rather nice and would work well with the
theme. I just worry it might not ha
Though I'm very new to all this, I couldn't see it being useful to take
a defeatist view. You're probably right about the mailing lists,
though. But I think it should be possible to assemble capable teams to
push Ubuntu forward, as long as there is the a surrounding culture and

I like the Too Human Idea, it resembles WEB Style from KDE wich is one
of the best since long time ago. Buttons are pretty good and
unontrusibe, maybe some effect on mouse over would be good. By the way,
colors in Gelatin are very good (well, orange, not the blue one)
I love the idea of Union, but

Um maybe too unobtrusive? If you want
I think less unobtrusive is better, and yes, exactly to highlight the
window contents rather than the interface itself.
The interface should be nothing other than a container for what you're
working on. A pretty container, yes (visions of Apple iPod and Macbook
retail boxes), but a container n

So for whatever reason the new version of the UbuntuClearlooks theme didn't
upload to the wiki. Didn't realize it until tonight.
Here's the latest version with the nicer metacity. The gtk-engines link
below is the latest version of my hack.
