No competition, nobody knows much. People just make themes submit, then
Canonical people decide what to use.

Could somebody please explain which one of themes is the official Ubuntu
artwork. Is this a competition ? Will all the good themes come with Ubuntu 8.10
? I saw some of the alpha screenshots and I hope its no where close to final.
Please let me know.

I think the colors really work nice and certainly are original.
My problems with it are that the buttons are too small and square.
But I really like how it looks with the window border.I'll start making
a metacity version of that.

It was there to accentuate the toolbars. I'm not sure about "working the
other direction," if you can expound on that (or do a paint-over mockup)
that'd help a lot. I'm also aware of windows having no menus, but with (or
