Use the tar command. To extract a gzipped tarball (tar.gz): Tar zxvf filename.tar.gz Where filename.tar.gz is the name of the tarball you want to extract. The above command will gunzip and extract the tarball in one command. There's lot of ways one can extract a tarball, but I'll leave it with
