Today I did install jaunty in my machine and I found a similar problem.
It was not possible to save orca settings in my account.
I found in my home directory a .orca directory owned by root.
I removed the .orca directory and after this I could save the settings.
code:
sudo rm -rf ~/.orca

Hi, I tried to play a movie file today in 9.04 and found that Orca was still
able to be used. This is great. I think Luke said he disabled pulse, so what is
being used now. I show alsa, so was a way found to get both Orca and audio to

I have installed new Linux, then installed brltty and Orca(thru
apt/synaptic, package gnome-orca).
The problem is, Orca started after Gnome has started but it does not
speak.
But it has spoken when a friend of mine started it for the first time
and it opened some text settings window.

Hi,
OK, i have just installed it on my machine and I have issues with speech being
cut off. I installed speech-dispatcher and now I am using IBMTTS with better
result.
