Your driver is certainly a lot cleaner than mine... mine started up as a
really hacked up SATA driver made for U-Boot 1.1.1.
I did find a number of problems, however.
I have several suggestions.
1. On many MIPS platforms (not including ours) you need to flush the cache
before write operations

Sil3131 and Sil3124.
The SATA controller can be used to load kernel.
