Sollte das noch jemand brauchen, ich habe in dem News-Template bei den
Konstanten folgendes dafür eingetragen:
plugin.tx_news {
view {
templateRootPath >
partialRootPath >
layoutRootPath >
}
}

Du musst noch die Keys ohne 's' löschen:

verstehe ich so, dass ich einzelne Template-/Partials-/Layout-Dateien
überschreiben kann und als Fallback, wenn eine Datei nicht überschrieben
