In our case we're not using either of the gnome snaps but just the
distro packages. We trust @seb128 more than those crazy snap people ;-)
I imagine that the fix for Inkscape is to switch to core22, which will
grab the newer GTK3. The next release for Inkscape is roughly aligned
with when 22.04 is
The problem is that snaps that are built on focal don't work on GNOME
40. So in my case I'm concerned about Inkscape, but most Electron apps
will fall into the same boat.

Seems a little extreme to disable all crash reporting. Why not disable
it for Unity8, that seems to be the one that everyone is worried about.
We have no other way to judge quality in the field, so it would be a
real shame to loose the only feedback we have on real use-cases.

If looking for a file on the filesystem won't work, then I can't ask
click for the information as if it knew there was a scope there it'd be
writing a file to the filesystem. That's basically what the scope click
hook does. (symbolic link, but whatevs)

Looking through this and with more discussion in IRC it seems that the
core issue here isn't that the definition directory isn't there, it is
that the utility can't create the database. This seems like an actual
error, as you can't update a DB that you can't write :-)

The log file makes this look like an app that is exporting the unity7
interface as well as the unity8 one. But the snapd in zesty doesn't have
a unity8 interface. So we're starting it as a unity7 app. It is not
realizing this and trying to connect to Mir, even after we've setup XMir

Marking the indicator-power task as invalid as I believe the fix we're
doing is to change the device specific configuration for the bq device
and nothing general in indicator-power.

I'm going to mark this as "Opinion" because I think the behavior
described here is by design. There is a matrix of media profiles and
outputs that effects *which* volume is used. Basically media play back
and alarms (default when media isn't playing) have different volumes. So
when medias not playi

Media Player should not be visible in the app scope and launcher

What I did for UAL is turn them on with an environment variable. That
way we can still test the production images but we don't have to get
errors with confined apps.
