The above steps about removing snd_rn_pci_acp3x didn't work consistently for me, but one thing that *has* (albeit a pain) is to boot with snd_hda_intel blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and then when I'm logged in, comment out that line and load it with modprobe. I still get weird beha

Did a fresh install of Groovy on an affected machine and updated it to the latest release packages first, and confirmed the audio issue still existed. I then installed the packages above and rebooted, and audio seems to be working as expected on that system now. I think that did the trick! -- Y
