native way of viewing files on USB devices. There is not a very usable
native file manager available on Unity 8 desktop, so that is problem

permission issue still occurs. The unprivileged containers are created
by the user and started by the user, ie, not root.

Yes, parts of the Unity 8 stack are still relying on cgmanager. The
future plan is to use systemd and get rid of the cgmanager dependence,
but The Future is not now:)

I was just bitten by the fact that cgmanager is disabled during distro
upgrades. I work on this stuff all of the time and took me a while to
remember/figure out what the issue is. I can imagine users less
experienced than me to want to throw their machine out of the window:)
Oddly, the only clue
To be fair, I had a rather old distro on a partition and did a bunch of
do-release-upgrade's to get to Yakkety. I may have hit the bug in some
package in one of those upgrades that has since been EOL'd.
Others report recent upgrades to Yakkety are working fine, so I may be a
one off.

I use the Python API extensively on the lp:libertine project. However,
when there is an error somewhere in the LXC layer, the only thing that
is returned is False which is not very useful when trying to figure out
what has gone wrong.
For example, I try to use the Container.

I have a Xenial host with a Xenial LXC and as of today's updates, the
container no longer gets an IP address and systemd does not appear to
have run.
This same exact container worked fine last Friday, only packages on my

1) I un-check "Require my password when waking from suspend" in "Brightness &
Lock" settings
2) Suspend/Resume works fine
3) I check "Require my password when waking from suspend" and Suspend agai
Updates today seem like they may have resolved this issue. I've been
able to suspend/resume several times without issue.

app, the Unity 8 session "stops". I have seen it either go to the blank
