I have been trying a few of the recommended changes, and so far, Force

not completely gone.
I have now moved on to the one you mentioned, using sna and dri 3.0. I

This is not fixed for me. I installed from 16.04.1 back in November,
and it's now doing this for me, so can this please be re-opened? Some
recommended removing 20auto-upgrades, but it didn't work either.

This is a bug yet once again in the latest version of 16.04.1, that was
installed fresh back in November.

I am not trying out testing versions, I'm sorry, but you guys have
wasted a lot of our time, you and the Xorg team. It's a joke really.
You added the tag "bios-outdated" there's nothing outdated about my BIOS
so I don't know where you think that's an appropriate tag.

Let me break it down for you, the BIOS is NOT out of date in regards to
any of the Intel video BIOS portions. Version 2.27 has the same Intel
video BIOS extension that 2.29 contains. It is foolish to update BIOS's
just because you can, generally you do them because something is broken,
but in thi

I have tried all sorts of mice, either a Logitech Trackman (my
preferred), or a wired USB mouse, nothing.
Even tried a USB/PS2 adapter and used a few different mice, still
nothing.

You can't exactly unplug and plug in onboard sound. Especially one with

works just fine.

15.04, this is STILL an issue.
Is no one working on this? I guess Since Unity 8 will be out soon, we
might as well just give up fixing bugs on current stuff?

I'm sorry, I would rather not be a programmer to fix a simple bug. Can
this please be explained so a casual user can just fix it? Linux
shouldn't be for programmers only.

Once again, I do not understand any of this. You're asking me to do
this but I am just a casual user who wrote this bug report because me,
like others, are experiencing this only on Ubuntu.
If you can ELI5 (explain like I'm 5), I might be able to do something.

No, I am using the built in mic on this computer. Also, it's not using
a Cirrus Logic sound chip, it's using all Intel. So, this patch you are
linking me to is not likely to work or will make things worse.

Now this is affecting my desktop with Ubuntu 14.04.
This software sucks, I'm sorry. It's crap, I'm switching distro's at
this point. It's only affecting Ubuntu. ONLY. And if no one is
willing to fix this problem, screw it.

Ok I found the mysterious update, it's systemd-shim. So this may not be
an Xorg issue.

Since systemd-shim was updated, my laptop is now unable to properly

Apparently if I wait long enough the computer WILL regain the ability to
wake, but networking is completely broken. And I was able to get some
logs out of it. Here's an attachment. Someone please assist, I lost
time at work today because my computer needs to be sleeping during
breaks and lunch,
I can confirm this happens to me as well, on every Ubuntu 14.04 machine
I've encountered so far actually.
