To clarify the gstreamer fix should be sufficient. The pipewire always-

as long as you have the gstreamer fix.
Fixes the bug in gstreamer:

Hi Daniel,
It worked flawlessly for about a year, and only started doing this

the past year as well with no issues.
I have already tried changing the resolution back to just plain 100% 4k
and it's the exact same with all kinds

Hi,
I have HP15 Gaming Pavilion bought 2-3 years ago.

No solution [that I found over the internet] worked.

Is Ubuntu/Linux really affected by that CVE? It really looks like it is
specific to Suse.
I tried to reproduce on ubuntu what was described in the original report
at SUSE https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1197654:
-:user1:ALL EXCEPT 127.0.0.1
and on ubuntu, it was the correct behaviour.

[very old notebook of about 5-6 years old]; I tried several times to connect
this notebook to the same monitor with the same scheme - it works perfectly (I
did not try screenshots, because the picture there is perfect)
It struck me that this issue motivates a Breaks/Replaces in fontconfig-
config to ensure smooth upgrades. I uploaded that change.

Yes this sounds like a GTK-only bug, probably new in Ubuntu 22.10. But
potentially related to that, please run:
xrandr --verbose > xrandr.txt
and attach the resulting text file here.
Also remember one of the issues you mentioned earlier is likely to be
bug 1876632 so please read that.

Thanks for the bug report.
It looks like this is probably a bug in the nouveau graphics driver, and
most likely the HDMI port is connected to your Nvidia GPU. The nouveau
driver is also logging errors which may or may not be related to this
bug.
