step to reproduce:
1. boot
2. select user
3. session changes to Ubuntu on Xorg from Ubuntu
4. enter password
5. run gedit
6. put Hankaku/Zenkaku key
7. nothing to happen

Oh, you are right. I booted into the 5.15.0-23-generic kernel and the
WiFi instability went away. I've been using it for a few hours now and I
would have seen the issue by now. I checked the logs and the update to
5.15.0-25-generic was installed on 6 April, 2022 which correlates

I have just finished the test of encfs with the older rsync's version
(3.1.2-2.1) on a virtual machine. The problem (IO error encountered -- skipping
file deletion) is still there, so it looks like there is no bug with rs
* Installation of Ubuntu kubuntu-18.04-desktop-amd64 in VirtualBox
* Creation of user "toto" passwd is "clown". The name of virtual machine is
toto-VirtualBox
* Installation of rsync 3.1.2-2.1ubuntu1.4 and encfs 1.9.2-2build2
* Creation of two directories (by toto) "Backup" and "Directory_to_save"

I'm not sure if it's related, but accidentally I have just uploaded a
fix of bug #1968459. It would be good if you could upgrade to ibus
1.5.26-4 when it becomes available, and let us know if the problem
persists with that version.
