Out of interest, I installed 18.04 in a VM and had no problems
installing the multi-arch libfreetype6-dev packages for and64 and i386.

We don't import translations directly from Damned Lies, but via the PO
files in upstream's tarballs. The latest gtk3 version in Ubuntu is
3.24.30 which was released on July 8.
So if those strings were translated after July 8, they are not yet in
Ubuntu due to the workflow,
To expand on the above, have the Firefox and snapd developers figured
out how to incorporate native messaging in a snap-based browser? You
guys are locking out a significant portion of useful extensions if not
figured out.

Flickering and a lack of smoothness are two different issues. The lack
of smoothness would just be due to your GPU staying at a lower frequency
more often, so it's not a bug but something you would need to tune
yourself.
As for the flickering, please edit /etc/default/grub and change:

It appears the vc4 kernel driver (Broadcom GPU) is crashing a lot in
