According to my system log, at boot time Zeigeist-datahub-vala triggers
mount requests for network shares. Given that some of these shares may
be offline, and given that the user and (to my knowledge) the system is
not yet trying to use these shares, this behaviour strikes me
@Steve (sorry for the late reply): not sure how that relates to bug
#1726124, but in my limited understanding of the changes, they shouldn't
regress the split-DNS use case.

It seems that the bug is in the CPU time calculation for the process.
Some samples display a smaller time than the previous sample, thus
resulting in negative CPU % for that period, which explains the overflow

When I boot up every day without exception, my machine starts up with
one of the CPU cores running at 100%. I see lots of posts on other
forums (Unbuntu etc) going back over a year or more blaming touchpads
or nvidia or WiFi. Some even say they can't use their thumb drive if it
isn't plugged in wh
BTW, add to my previous comment an additional symptom: sometimes my
system will "appear to hang" entirely during boot (but it will power
down normally by briefly touching the power off button when it "looks
like" it is stuck).
