discovered a couple of workarounds.
If you're having trouble resolving internal domain names (like
*.internal.company.com), you might want to try adding something like
this to the [ipv4] section in /etc/NetworkManager/system-
connect
That certainly matches the copy of the file shipped in systemd-shim in
xenial. But I'm at a loss to explain why it's present on your system
after dpkg has removed the package.

Today I have tested cosmic image 20180611 on two machines:
* Lenovo X1 Carbon (gen 5)
* Dell XPS 13 (9343)
and the bug persists. In both cases Ubuntu installs fine, but then the
machine never boots.
