Here is the number from the beginning of this SRU cycle till today
(since Jul. 3)
We have 6 jobs for each node, which requires at least 6 re-deployments
(note that it's just a reboot for s390x, since we don't re-deploy them).
The failures here means how many times we need to reboot it manually.

I uploaded virtualbox-lts-zesty and tested the hwe 16.04.3 in xenial VM,
installing virtualbox-guest-x11 and or
virtualbox-guest-dkms/virtualbox-guest-source works.
Even the embedded kernel module works, so we should be good here.

I was looking at the ABI question asked by Robie in #5.
The package fortunately has a symbols file and it would pop up there if the
breakage would affect the symbols themselve.
There might be a fix behind stable symbols - like the actually desired fix for
huge files. But that should be a no-o
I suggest a variation on A where before rm_conffile you checksum
/etc/apparmor.d/local/usr.sbin.libvirtd, if different safely save that
off, call rm_conffile, then move the saved off file into place.

It is suprising for me too, as I don't know about this problem on 16.04
LTS and I could not reproduce it. It was probably introduced in 17.04 or
around that.
I have done some experimenting now and I managed to find out that the
problem is caused only by profile for /usr/lib/dovecot/anvil (not
dove
I'm curious how we can work around this bug. If you're affected please
report the results of:
dpkg -l | awk '/^iH/ { print $2 }'
This shows which specific packages are half-installed on your systems.
With the list of packages this returns, please also report success or
failure of:
sudo apt-get
For some reason bug expiration isn't working for this bug. Given that
there were no updates for over two months, I'm marking it as invalid.

This is caused by an anonymous socket communication channel between
dovecot and anvil. If this problem is not happening in 16.04 (unless you
are using the release kernel) then it will be because o a change to
dovecot, newer versions of apparmor have been SRUed back to 16.04

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privile
I eventually succeeded to finish upgrading the system. The only thing I
had to manually fix was to set TERM=xterm because the installer was not
able to pop-up the purple selection screen with my self-compiled st
terminal.

Actually I was wrong, on some boxes with coreutils_8.21-1ubuntu5.4 it
was working fine. This is really an initramfs-tools bug:

I had the version with the fix, but needed to reboot again to get it to
