The EDID issue is possibly unrelated.
gnome-shell gets SIGKILL'd if its realtime thread uses too much CPU
during startup. This may be mutter's fault like in bug 2077216, or it
may be due to an i915 bug alluded to above.
First we would like to know if the fix for bug 2077216 helps, so please
try 2
After testing various monitors, I found that the first two monitors did
not display any output, while the third monitor functioned correctly. I
think the issue may be related to a connection problem like Alessandro
suspect or compatibility with specific monitors.

Are you suggesting the issue might come from the monitor? I used two
monitors to reproduce the same issue, and both of them work on other
machines.
