The following worked for me: 1. Install xserver-xorg-video-intel package and rebooting. This showed output on the second monitor in lower resolution. 2. Adding higher resolution via xrandr: sudo xrandr --addmode DP1 1920x1080 3. Using the Ubuntu settings, display module to switch to higher resol
