FWIW, the shellRotation disables upside-down for krillin, mako and
arale. If we ever should have a device where rotating upside down is
intentionally enabled for the shell, the messaging app will do so too.
Not saying this is wrong, just to make sure there's a common
understanding of how it works.
seems to be fixed since the shell rotation landing

Agreed, unity8 will soon start telling apps which orientation the phone
goes to, respecting the orientation lock. When shell starts rotating,
most apps will actually be rotated by the shell (that will first ask the
app whether it wants that). The app will just be resized.

Renato, as far as I know unity8 will also rotate. So it is nonsense to
implement something in toolkit then deprecate, because we need to drive
the rotation control between unity and toolkit. Of course, defining the
flags that drive the rotation direction is one thing, that can be done
as well, but
in android if you turn your phone upside down it rotate back to the
original position. We could do the same on the MainWindow
implementation. I believe we do not need unity8 changes do to that.

We must agree on an implementation with unity8 on how to drive the
orientations allowed for an app.

True, MainView or OrientationHelper has no possibilities to specify
which orientation is supported.

Adding back the SDK as an application doesn't have a possibility to
control which orientations it supports. So far MainView only supports
autoOrientationEnabled true/false which isn't enough information.
