Martin,
Please note, that in my setup, the network is lost immediately after
rebooting with the new network-manager (1.4.2-2ubuntu4). Then,
downgrading back to version 1.4.2.-2ubuntu3, and rebooting, I get
network back.
In both of these versions, the network-manager creates the same kind of

This hasn't been fixed in OTA-12 on my Pro 5, although it may be occur

@lathiat - I've been running the package since this morning. Normally
get "...Invalid response packet from host..." messages logged every ~20
seconds into syslog, but since updating to the patched package, I
haven't seen a single error logged.
This is on Ubuntu 14.04.4.

This bug is really annoying. I get it on my MX5 (15.04, OTA 11) and
makes reading things on the internet a frustrating experience.

I have tested this bug this way.
1) With the newest setup with all upgrades installed (Ubuntu Gnome)
there is 6-8 sec slow down when shutting down or rebooting. No delay at
start up.
2) I then downgraded the package isc-dhcp-client (4.3.3-5ubuntu9) to

that's temporary?). Pip, the python package manager, is available from

I'm now testing Ubuntu 15.10, which seems *even more* broken, since it
seems to have a mixed mode of Python3.4 and 3.5. there's no
python3.4-pip package, which means there is essentially no way of
getting a working pip for python 3.4.

I can confirm too, the PPA solved the issue.
I also have only busybox-initramfs installed.

The correct workaround or fix for the time being is to downgrade the
version 0.120ubuntu1 to the working version 0.103ubuntu16.
You will need to chroot the root partition to do this.
I believe package intel-microcode has nothing to with this.

Same here, kernel panic with v. 0.120ubuntu1
I also use intel-microcode; remiving does not solve anything.
However, intramfs.tools_0.103ubuntu16 works well.
I had to chroot to downgrade to that one.

I do a fair bit of work with beginner Python tutorials. It's not often
that we have to say "on linux, this is harder", but this is one area
where ubuntu/debian are failing pretty hard compared to the mac +
windows experience.
