No one asked for "configuration for every single thing"
I only asked for a design change to be made a choice, instead of being
forced upon users.
Unity has made a decision to change dash's design and to force that
change to all users, even those who do not want it, and like the old way
better.

The real problem is that this decision was made uni-laterally. What some see as
a feature, others see as a flaw or bug.
There should be a way to disable this "feature" for those that find it a flaw.
I like the old way Unity/Dash search worked.

Yes. Neither monitor shows login box.
When it is working the login box will switch to whichever monitor has focus,
which is why I made sure to capture the mouse pointer in my picture, to show
that monitor had focus
