After a new install of 20.04 the console display is broken into odd

Kind of unbelievable that this has happened in the mainline repo. Makes
me feel like I'm using debian in 1995 again. But anyway, I fixed it by
forcing a downgrade of these packages:
sudo apt-get install libcups2=2.1.3-4 cups libcupscgi1=2.1.3-4
libcupsimage2=2.1.3-4 libcupsmime1=2.1.3-4 libcupspp
And, by I've observed that the option rfc3442-classless-static-routes
code 121 = array of integer 8; needs to have global scope.

the problem. Still when I try to shutdown, the system reboots only.

I think I am hitting the same problem; interestingly on Xubuntu 14.04 ... and a
plantronics blackwire 420 headset.
Any time I use it to make a call (and start using its volume keys) ...
mouse/keyboard get "whacked" that way.
