With resolvconf, I can specify an interface order.

Here is the dmesg log from 22.03.2 LTS. The sound works great on that
release. There are no tx/HW params/AsoC errors as seen in dmesg with
23.04.

If I plug headphones into the headphone jack, then a device shows up in
sound settings:

Sorry to come back to this, but I'm now trying to netboot Ubuntu
22.04.2, having found the above mentioned work-around for 20.04.
Something has changed: I can no longer netboot from NFSv4 by replacing
/usr/lib/klibc/bin/nfsmount with an NFSv4-friendly hack.
I am now getting the same error messages
And being able to boot from NFSv4 has also made overlayroot work. I just
need to go back and ensure that it still doesn’t work with NFSv3, just
in case it was fixed by something else...

I have firefox working. To get it to work I had to disable cgroup. To do
this I followed Tim Richardson's instructions at c25. When launched it

Sorry, please ignore my previous comment (comment 6); I'd copied the
netplan config from another machine and adjusted all the IPs, but forgot
to change the interface name, so the entries were ignored.
Basic IP connectivity was working since I have an encrypted volume
that's unlocked via the initrd
Uggh. On a second system that I upgraded 16.04->18.04->20.04, I have
netplan installed and a configuration file in place. However, the DNS
entry in the netplan config is ignored, so even switching to netplan
doesn't fix this bug:-(

wget can use zlib1g for a few features, notably --compression support.
The Debian package doesn't explicitly build-depend on zlib1g-dev, it
gets it via libgnutls28-dev; since the Ubuntu package drops the latter,
compression support is lost too.
Please consider adding zlib1g-d

Unable to set different Scale on different Monitors
After killing and restarting the keyring which fixed Network Manager,
then Chromium developed a slow start problem caused by gnome-keyring.

Every time I turn around, I have a no failure related to gnome-keyring.
After having Chromium running for a few minutes it hangs again for a
minute or so with the same error message:

Possible causes include: the remote applicat
Running "chromium-browser --enable-logging=stderr" results in:
$ chromium-browser --enable-logging=stderr

My laptop screen is 3840x2160 while my external monitor is only
1680x1050. In order for the laptop monitor to be usable I have the
scaling set at 200 (this works wonderful). However, when I plug in my
external monitor it is scaled up to 200% as well making it unusable.
