Public bug reported: This is a fresh install of Ubuntu 16-04 on a Thinkpad P50. Sound works when booting into Windows, but not in Ubuntu. No sound from internal speakers or headphones. Sound controls all seem to work, volume controls and mute buttons work in settings as well as the keyboard sound

Public bug reported: I'm trying to install Ubuntu onto a new SSD with non-functioning Windows partitions. The Windows OS partitions were cloned from another drive using Clonezilla. I'm hoping that installing Ubuntu will write a new boot sector or something like that and make everything bootable.
