I'm not sure if it's related, but it looks like I fixed my problem by
removing an obsolete swap line from my /etc/fstab

Exactly the same for me (no swap, ext4, /home being checked every single
time, making each boot very slow). Ubuntu 15.10 here, 64 bit.
