Public bug reported:
I just upgraded a working system from an up-to-date 18.04.5 installation
to 20.04.1 and lost sound in the process.
The upgrade itself was uneventful but now Pulseaudio lists the dreaded
dummy output as the only available sound card.
Alsa correctly sees the card as Card: HDA
Not that I've done anything more fancy than update-manager -d…
Specifically not played with the pid 1 defaults that I can remember.

Solved with running:
dpkg-divert --remove /usr/share/dbus-1/system-
services/org.freedesktop.systemd1.service
apt upgrade
