It looks like this is also true in 22.04. I'm wondering if there is a
way to build it manually? I want to use OVS to manage the networks I use
with KVM virtual machines, but I've been unable to get it working due to
the lack of builtin network manager support.
I'd like to avoid moving to netplan i
Thanks to all who helped track down and fix this bug. I'm running Ubuntu

fix? If so, I'm willing to wait a bit for the fix. If not, though, what
is the recommended fix? Build and install an updated bluez I assume?

I didn't take an exhaustive look at the reported test failures, but the
ones I did look at above appear to be related to the test infrastructure
not starting up. Can we give those another kick to see if a subsequent
run does any better? Thanks.

Thank you, Dane.
Hello, util-linux maintainers:
Escalating this rather serious bug to you to analyze and get your
thoughts. When this occurs, the host is rendered unreachable. In #26,
Dane proposes a possible change to avoid leaving a system in this state.

I have the same problem. Ubuntu 24.04 (fresh install, all packages
updated) will not charge an old HP EliteBook 8460 with healthy battery.
It worked fine with OpenSUSE 15.5.

After discussion with Julian, we came to the conclusion that I will try
to implement ip=ibft in initramfs-tools.
The first step will be to write test cases for it. At least two:
* one ibft with IPv4 (two interfaces on the client: one with DHCP server on the
other side and one without DHCP server)
Before uploading this (and shadow in bug 2089923) could you post a TL;DR
of the discussions in Debian that led to the migration of login from
shadow to util-linux? I think such a change warrants a broader public
discussion :)

That is not possible for me. The GT330M was supported by the nvidia 340
driver, but that driver is unsupported. The GT330M is not supported in
newer versions of the nvidia driver. `ubuntu-drivers` does not list any
drivers either. It does on LTS 22.04 though.

I faced the same issue with the nouveau driver defaulting to the wrong
resolution during installation. Switching to a proprietary driver after
setup resolved it for me. Has anyone tried a similar fix?

Thanks. So I am marking this bug as invalid for tzdata, since tzdata
behaves correctly.
The remaining bug is that programs misbehave when TZ doesn't contain a
valid time zone. Which GUI programs misbehave or crash? I'll mark
coreutils (which ships the date command) as affected:
```
$ TZ=Canada/Ea
Judging by the video it looks to me like you're seeing two different
framebuffers from the recent past. The reason nothing more recent is
replacing them and you see flicker is because the compositor thinks
Chrome has already opened over the top of the flickering window. So it
never gets updated.
