I upgraded my Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS using do-release-upgrade -d command
on 2022/05/20
And then my external monitor, who worked well before on 20.04 LTS, was never
able to connect.
Everytime I try to connect it, set Joint Displays and press apply on the
setting panel
Yes, unfortunately the network work was deferred, its still a wip but is
not scheduled as a work item for the cycle. With that said we still hope
to get this fixed, I just can't promise it.

and Windows. I had to update vmware-tools-desktop. The rendering did not
fix though.

I thought *maybe* this problem is because I was running a custom built
mainline kernel and the drivers GUI doesnt want to change a system with
non-original Ubuntu kernel, but I just rebooted in the standard generic
kernel and the problem persists.

ok, sorry it took some time as I was debugging another issue...
Now i would like to go back to the state where nvidia drivers are not
installed and they do not get installed as described so i can create the
debug output, but due to this bug i just reported, I cannot change this
state currently:

oh and forgot to say: actiually the same goes for all other nvidia
driver versions that are shown in the list - its about 10 of them.
Whatever i select, the apply button is inactive.

This bug still exists in the latest Ubuntu 22.04 Live image. When I
netboot the image and apply another lower layer (NFS-based), I still
get "nfs rpc call returned error 13" in my dmesg. Intensive google
searching lead me to this thread. This bug causes the Firefox (provided
via snap) not function
