Yeah, I tend to think that the fix should be made in lightdm. My idea is
to modify the patch, so LANGUAGE is set only if this conditional is
satisfied:

Prints about 70% page at normal speed and then prints 1 line every ~20 seconds.
(Printing head makes one cycle). Even cancel button on printer takes ~20
seconds. If i disconnect USB cable it cancels at normal speed.

Take 3 machines, connect them on the same network through a single switch (to
limits network bandwith/latency effects)
run uperf on 3 of them, 2 slave and one master.
I am using the following uperf script:
Simplest thing would be:
tftp-root
sets the tftp-root directory: /data/tftp -> /
or: /var/lib/tftpboot -> /
Whatever is done is relative to this. tftp-root is then NEVER
prepended to any file given for tftp retrival.
