perhaps?
I already did sudo apt install "libxcb*dev" to get all related dev
packages, but none of them provide xcb/xinput.h.
The result is that when building Qt from source, it's necessary to use a
copy

help. Does anybody have a clue?

I sleep my XFCE (xubuntu) machine rather than turning it off at night.
Today as with yesterday morning, instead of getting the locker-screen

I can confirm I'm having the same problem. This problem arised to me since
Debian Jessie. The workaround was to install Nvidia proprietary drivers, but
support for nvidia-304xx was dropped on Xorg 1.20.
Adding "NvMSI=0 NvPCIE=0" to kernel boot line seems to make crashes less
predictable.

Re comment #7, coreutils 8.24 added the ability to do "sync -f FILENAME"
to sync only the file system containing FILENAME. I think update-
initramfs should probably be changed to use that in xenial and newer.

Also I confirm that removing squid resolved the situation.
I found that it does this:
1. /bin/sh /etc/init.d/dnsmasq systemd-stop-resolvconf
2. /bin/sh /etc/init.d/dnsmasq systemd-start-resolvconf

Per former comments marking as fixed and adding Xenial task.
It is still an issue in Xenial, but since no one here was participating I
wonder about the severity.
Also we would certainly not backport the fix that was taken.

My computer continues to crash on a daily basis. It locks up and
reboots. And this error report pops up. I've no idea how to track this
down.
I tried enabling kdump-tools but couldn't get it to work. System would
not reboot into kdump kernel when I manually triggered the test crash.
