Same problem on fresh 17.10 install using LG Tone HBS920 headsets.
An LG FH2 portable rolling speaker seems to work fine though.
The workaround of disconnecting my LG headset under Bluetooth Settings
and then reconnecting does allow me to switch from HSP/HFP to A2DP.

I probably solved this issue with:
1. Edit /etc/default/grub

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
into:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash video=SVIDEO-1:d"
2. sudo update-grub
3. sudo grub-install /dev/sdX
4. reboot

Hello Everyone. I've been following this thread and tried every fix here to no
avail.
I live in Canada and I want to keep my Ubuntu in English, with Canadian Locale
because most of the time I'll be writing in english and working regularly with
Canadian (very similar to us) locale, I guess... but
Closing now as gnome-terminal has been released, and there is no comment

I can imagine a bunch of different issues this will cause, so I'll try
to figure out what is going on and what possibilities we have of
