I'm not familiar with our overall powerd/bus plan, but at a guess we
would want USC to action this. And in theory USC as the system
compositor will already see all input events even while the screen is
off. Thus comments #3 and #4 would be irrelevant. So I suspect this bug

It seems wrong to me, because when you scroll down over the sound
indicator, which was also got an update at the same time in bug
#1342731, the cursor moves left. So it should move left when scrolling
down over the switcher.
Also there's a chance that this behaviour change was a mistake, since it
patch #6 fixes crash in system-settings (#1523975) and removes wifi
scanning updates, which could potentially drain the battery (#1524133)

code from the Qt Bearer Management plugin as a fix for bug #1480877.
This work all landed in the PPA and is being tested by QA for release as

I encountered this problem too on Ubuntu 15.04 running 3.19.0-39 kernel.
Fixed it by turned off apparmor profile for LXC container by adding
"lxc.aa_profile = unconfined" into container's config. In my case

IncomingMessage signal we get from ofono already contains the message
cut off.

Plus add OTR to the conversation and you got a rock solid IM solution
that I would like much more to use on my mobile than WhatsApp or
Telegram. Different XEP coverage by some clients can be a pain, but that
should be not a reason not to try to get this done for Ubuntu Touch.
