Also, this is buried in comment #2, mako *only* supports SIM removal
detection. When a SIM is inserted, rild does not notify us. So, atm
both krillin and mako are equivalent as only removal is detected.

Same errors came up after reboot, but it seemed to progress past it
anyway. Here's a boot.log after the updates, still quite clearly showing
the failure to map the partition but seemingly eventually succeeding and
getting past it (rather quickly too, actually):
