Hi quick update. I've made progress with xdgkit bringing it to version 2.0.0, due to breaking changes in the API.  This brings the ability to search for an icon based on its symbolic name, such as in a desktop file.  The algorithm seeks out the current user theme (KDE/GTK), defaulting to "hicolor"

Hi Nio, We can release it without Zenity version if needed, all I need to do is copy the non-zenity desktop icon to the desktop instead.
