My issue is qmail stops sending every few days.
The problem began about a month ago after several months of successful
operation however I cannot see anything I have done that would have caused the
problem.
The qmail-smtpd log does not appear to show any problems and shows that smtpd

Send and receive mail to/from local mailboxes
But cannot receive mail from remote servers
