All,
These discussion lists (both toaster@shupp.org and toaster-
t...@shupp.org) are moving to a single Google Group:
http://groups.google.com/group/qmail-toaster
I've requested invitations be sent to you all, but that could take a
day or two, and I'll likely shut down this list tomorrow.
Hello Bill,
I want to implement your maildrprc script.
If I got that right, then I have to put http://shupp.org/software/maildroprc
to /etc/maildroprc
and in the respective .qmail - file in on of a vpopmail users's directory I
pipe the message through maildrop by |preline /usr/local/bin/maildrop

Here's a not so simple filter, that will give you an idea of how to
write one:

Pipe your tagged message through maildrop, which can filter it for you
to wherever you like.

Bill

Okay I've got a new server and I plan on installing the latest version
of the toaster. I only have about 20 users or so but I don't want them
to have to reset their passwords and such. What do I need to copy over
to the new server? Or is that even possible?

Userid #'s in /var/qmail/users/assign were wrong. A quick:
sed "s/old#:old#/new#:new#/g" assign > assign.new
fixed it right up.

That's correct. rcpthosts is what tells qmail-smtpd which domains it can
receive mail from. Also, virtualdomains is what tells qmail which user
user handles mail for that domain. So both files need to be copied to the
new server.

Okay, have one small problem but one that is driving me up the wall.
What I did for the record is the following:
1) Install mail+vpopmail according to toaster instruction
2) Archive up old domains and etc directory from old server
3) Change /var/qmail/users/assign to match the uid/gid of the us
That is the standard hashing used by vpopmail (when you call vadduser and
vdeluser) to allow for very large number of users/domain while maintaining
some form of efficiency. The hashing creates 100 users per directory and
then starts creating the numbered sub-directories.
You probably wouldn't wan
